Our Theatre

Aurora Theatre Company is an exciting and invaluable addition to the burgeoning Downtown Berkeley Arts District.   For ten years, Aurora Theatre Company has proven itself as a prominent producer of theatre in the Bay Area.

Without sacrificing any of the intimacy or high standards of acting and directing that made Aurora Theatre Company what it is today, our new theatre provides better amenities, more comfortable seats and a modern style to our loyal patrons who have kept coming back for years.

Aurora Theatre Company's 150-seat intimate house is a great place to experience live theatre. The audience sits on three sides of a deep-thrust stage with no person sitting further than 15 feet away from the performance.

Backstage, actors have access to comfortable dressing rooms and a green room. Designers have a workshop and greatly increased flexibility in set, sound and light design (for example:  the old theatre had 12 lighting instruments - the new theatre can have up to 90!), staff has new administrative offices, and everyone enjoys a larger and friendlier lobby and restroom facilities.  Aurora Theatre Company is wheelchair accessible, and assisted-listening devices are available for the hearing-impaired.

Located in the heart of the Downtown Arts District, the Theatre is very accessible.  Aurora Theatre Company is located at 2081 Addison Street, between Berkeley Repertory Theatre and The Jazz SchoolThe Berkeley BART station is only a few steps from our front door, and nearby parking.  We are also within easy walking distance of Berkeley's best restaurants.

Our move to downtown Berkeley is the biggest step in Aurora Theatre Company's history since it was founded.  We hope you will join us to celebrate!  Contact us for a full brochure or more information, and we hope to see you in our new space!

Construction is complete on our new space, and our $2.5 million Capital Campaign goal is getting closer.  We are tremendously grateful to those who have contributed to the building of the new theatre.

We would like to thank the following Capital Campaign donors of $1,000 and above who have helped make this new era in Aurora Theatre Company's history a reality.
