Up Next: THE SEARCH FOR SIGNS OF INTELLIGENT LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE

Starting July 12, 2025

By Jane Wagner
Directed by Jennifer King

Starring Marga Gomez

Intimate. Infamous. Incorrigible.

Through the eyes of a lovable and eccentric bag lady with a sharp wit and a heart as vast as the cosmos she ponders, Wagner weaves a rich tapestry of interconnected stories that celebrate a mosaic of humanity in all its beauty, chaos, and contradiction. One woman plays a whole cast of quirky and unforgettable characters, revealing the invisible threads that connect us all.

Support the ACLU’s lawsuit against the National Endowments for the Arts

Defend the 1st Amendment and our Trans Communities

Aurora Theatre Company and many of our Bay Area theater colleagues stand in strong support of the ACLU’s lawsuit against the National Endowments for the Arts that challenges new guidelines that deem applications for projects that appear to “promote” what the federal government deems “gender ideology” ineligible for funding.

EUREKA DAY brings home the Tony for Best Revival of a Play. Congratulations to Jonathan Specter, the cast, and designer!

"I'm so happy for Jonathan. EUREKA DAY'S premiere at Aurora was one of those special productions that only come around when everything falls into place -- not just the cast and the design and the writing, but the way the story interacts with the community in the historical moment. The way to tell a universal story is through the authentically personal; this very Berkeley play's ability to resonate years later and all around the world is a tribute to that. I'm thrilled to be working with Marin Theatre to bring our original team back together to share this play again in September in the wake of its incredible success. It is deeply ironic that Aurora Theatre Company is facing a very possible shutdown even as a play we commissioned and developed, and premiered receives this highest honor. Regional and local theatres are telling vital stories like EUREKA DAY; they need and deserve more support in the form of government and foundation funding, corporate sponsorships, donations, and attendance."
